A new album for the new year: The Strawberry Alarm Clock will debut its neo-psychedelic “Where’s One?” in mid-2026.
It’s the follow-up to to 2012’s acclaimed comeback album, “Wake Up Where You Are.” While “Wake Up” mixed new band originals with several rerecordings of band classics, “Where’s One?” consists of all-new originals, topped off with a pair of Beatles covers.
The band plans to celebrate the long-awaited album with a combo preview party and concert at L.A.’s Whisky a Go Go on Feb. 28.
The psychedelic rock pioneers recently signed with the L.A.-area label Big Stir Records, which will release the single “Monsters” on Oct. 3 (digital and CD formats). A limited-edition vinyl single will follow.
“Monsters” and its virtual B-side “White Light” are now up for preorders and pre-saving.
The “Monsters” track will appear on Big Stir’s Halloween comp “Chilling, Thrilling Hooks and Haunted Harmonies” a week later (vinyl and CD). The virtual B-side is “White Light.”
Bassist George Bunnell takes the lead vocal on “Monsters,” a tale of primal fear the band has been previewing in concert. SAC also is working up a video to promote the track.
“The lyrics explore the lingering impact of fear, trauma or anxiety — both in childhood and and adulthood,” says the band’s longtime lyricist David Glück.
Planned “Where’s One?” formats are digital, CD and vinyl.

Bunnell says all of the album’s songs have been recorded, most of them produced by longtime band member Steve Bartek (Oingo Boingo). Mixing is under way.
Among the dozen tracks on “Where’s One?” are “Blow Your Mind,” “Primordial Soup,” “I’m Not the One” and “Live Water.” The Beatles covers are the instrumental “Day Tripper” (already an SAC concert favorite) and the psychedelic touchstone “Within You and Without You.”
The Strawberry Alarm Clock are Bunnell, keyboardist Mark Weitz, drummer Randy Seol, guitarist Howie Anderson, drummer and percussionist Gene Gunnels, and multi-instrumentalist Bartek.

I have all of those UNI 45s and I still play them. I didn’t know they had an album in 2012. Cool. I just got done playing their hits album from so long ago.
My son, Rupert, is a 15 year old percussionist from London. His Top 5 music artists of all time (in no particular order) are The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Enya, Nirvana and….Strawberry Alarm Clock. We often hear your tracks coming out of his headphones.
He particularly loves Soft Skies, No Lies and Tomorrow, and he loves the fast drum solo on Lose to Live and the changing soundscape of The World’s on Fire. He also thinks the voice effects on Black Butter, Present are really cool. I think it is fabulous that he is enjoying exploring the world of music and being influenced by a range of artists.
Rupert is such a huge fan of yours – probably your youngest. His friends think he is a Grandpa!!
Do you think I have a serious medical problem playing “Monsters” at least 40 times every day ?? Like I did with “Incense and Peppermints” when I was 12 years old. Now I am 70 !!!! Enjoying a lot of music (Indie and lots of guitars). What you did is fantastic. Thank you thank you thank you !!!!!
Wow! Thank you thank you thank you too!
Hey guys at Strawberry Alarm Clock, I’m Jason, 27 years old from the UK and I have loved your stuff for quite a while. your use of all different kinds of instruments and the psychedelic transcendental sound is just awesome. I like to play guitar and I’ve tried my best to learn what knowledge I have with a very basic understanding of music theory, I want to get a lot better than I am currently though. I struggle really bad with motivation and discipline to practice but I do love music.
I have a real bad anxiety condition called agoraphobia, which has really made my life difficult because I’m stuck in my house and have been for a very long time. but I love moments alone at night listening to your songs. Just listened to some right now actually.
Are there any ways you guys get motivation when you feel like it has just been sucked out of you?
I think my favourite songs of yours are possibly Sit With The Guru, Curse of the Witches, I climbed the mountain. but I love some stuff off of the world in a seashell album too. It’s pretty amazing that you guys are still making music today. Thanks for all the cool songs and keep doing what you guys do.
Jason.
Thank you Jason. Music is possibly the best therapy. Even animals respond positively to it.
We wish you the very best. Here’s a cool bio from our new record company;

Hi guys at Strawberry Alarm Clock, I loved your music since I first heard it, I’m Jason and I’m 27 years old from the UK. Your use of all different kinds of instruments and your psychedelic transcendental sound is awesome!
I have a really bad anxiety problem which leaves me stuck in my own home which has been just over a decade now, I love playing guitar and I’ve tried my best to learn what basic music theory I have, I’m proud of what I have learnt but I want to be even better than I am now. There have been many times where I am so lonely and depressed but music helps. your music is enjoyable. I just listened to some now actually.
Motivation and discipline is a big issue for me and I wondered if you have any ways to remotivate your self when you just feel like there’s none?
My favourite songs of yours are sit with the guru, curse of the witches and I climbed the mountain. It’s amazing that you guys are still making music today and thank you for the cool songs. Keep making music and having fun guys.
