The wait is over. The time is now. The Strawberry Alarm Clock’s highly anticipated new album, “Where’s One?” has dropped, bringing 11 new originals from the psychedelic pioneers.
It’s the follow-up to to 2012’s acclaimed comeback album, “Wake Up Where You Are.” While “Wake Up” mixed new band originals with several rerecordings of band classics, “Where’s One?” consists of all-new originals, topped off with a pair of Beatles covers. The album was released Aug. 7 by Big Stir Records.
“Where’s One?” formats:
- Digital album (unlimited streaming via the Bandcamp app) plus 16-bit/48kHz download;
- Single CD in a digipak, plus streaming and download;
- Double LP — Beautiful gatefold jacket. Side 1’s disc features a “Clock and Logo” etching by the band, while sides 2-4 feature the musical program. Plus streaming and download.
The album’s 13 songs include the recently released singles “Monsters,” “Blow Your Mind” and “The Sky Isn’t Falling.”

I’ve been listening to SAC for probably ten years or more. Since college.I heard Incense and Peppermints at an antique mall and was a fan from the opening chord. Great harmonies! Absolute favorite songs are Barefoot in Baltimore and Tomorrow. But I’ve never heard an SAC song I don’t love. I live in the southern states so I haven’t seen a live show yet but I just wanted to let you all know your music is reaching the younger generations… well, me at least. Really appreciate your unique style and songwriting, and draw a lot of inspiration from your records. Every time an SAC song comes on, instant boost for my mood. Instant smile. The new music is just as great. That 6-minute track was mesmerizing. Great stuff.
This is the most important musical event that has happened in the last like 50 years or so. It was so fun watching it come together, through recordings of early live versions of songs and interviews and stuff.
I love strawberry alarm clock. They are a wonderful bunch of people and their music is so good and so powerful and it’s an honor for me to perform with them. I urge everyone to buy this album.
Bought the new double L.P. today after work from Amoeba in Hollywood. Really great new album. In some ways I wish the clock etching on the first side had more songs, but the etching is still really cool, so that makes it okay. Certainly better than a Side 4 thats completely blank as I’ve seen elsewhere.
I think the song “Since You Have Gone Away” has some definite mainstream appeal potential. Great orchestration. “Primordial Soup” is a great follow-up and love the Farfisa organ giving it that 60’s flair. “I’m Not the One” is a wonderful ride out on Side 2. Beatles songs are brilliant covers making them uniquely SAC versions, instead of we’re going to do it how The Beatles did it but SAC doing it as some bands/artists do (and sometimes is cool too.)
I already had the previously released singles, so really enjoyed hearing them playing on my turntable yesterday afternoon.
Also, really damned cool that I was at the show in the picture on the inside of the gatefold! I’ve always looked at old album covers from the 60’s and 70’s and thought it would be so awesome when the album came out to see it and know you were there. Now, I do and with a really cool legendary band from the California late 60’s psychedelic era. First time at The Whisky too and what a fantastically positive vibe in the air that night. So much fun! Great live performance and atmosphere.
